new adventure

For the last few days I have been working with my cousin on her blog header.  I had SO much fun working on it that I thought, dude..why don't I do this more.  My true love has always been illustrating and drawing people, so that is just what I've decided to do.  The name of my future online business is LoveYoMug.com.  Custom Portrait Illustration and Design.  Woohoo!!  Thank you Jessica!!!  Here is her blog: http://courageandcoffee.blogspot.com/

Here is another portrait I did tonight of a friends daughter.

spider is a muse?

Had another idea for a picture book.  I guess you could say it just came to me in the car.  The problem is that it came to me in the form of a spider.  I did a sketch of it just to get it on paper.  I am planning to finish this one for a portfolio piece.

My I introduce to you...

Fainting frank and Stinky Hank are born. I had the pleasure of hanging out with some baby goats this weekend. My friend Jana let me come and take photos. I guess that would be considered research for my book, but it was to much fun to be called research. This color illustration took me all day, and I'm still not done with it.  hoping that future scenes won't take as long. Getting these characters more finalized will hopefully make future drawings faster.Woohoo! Well on my way to my first book! Look out Amazon!

Hank

Character sketch for my book.  Don't want to go into detail because someone might steal my idea. :)  It might be half good so I don't want to take any chances. :)  This is Hank though...

Joe the crow

The more I look at this face the more I don't like it.  Not sure if I should start over, or what.  Something is wrong with his eyes...does he look retarded?  And his lip is funky.. need to fix that.  ugh.

Joe the Crow!

This is my next project.  Trying to build up some illustrations geared towards kids.  I figure the more diverse I can get, the higher my chances to be used on a book project or hook up with an agent. Bat-ta-bing!  This idea came from a story from my husband's childhood where he ended up with a wounded crow as a pet.  This is just the first of the sketch, but I'm going to try and use more soft and loose style with no dark outlines. We'll see how it turns out.

SCORE!!

ahhhhh... Angles smiled on me today!  Showed my boss the mock up of the walls and he loved it!!  Which means the project moves forward! It's gonna happen!  We're contacting the walls manufacturer today, getting dimensions for the graphics and they will be at the Winston-Salem Trade Show in North Carolina!!!  This is the coolest thing I've had the opportunity to work on so far!  I'm stoked!
